African Mahogany Kalimba Finger Percussion

Kalimba is a national musical instrument with African national characteristics. Kalimba has different names in different African countries.

For example, Kalimba is the name of the musical instrument in Kenya, while in Zimbabwe it is called Mbira and in Congo it is called Likembe. It also has names like Sanza and Thumb Piano. It gets its name from the thin section of the body (mostly made of wood, bamboo and, in modern times, metal) that is moved with the thumb. Traditional kalimba uses gourds to make resonators.

The karimba is small and easy to carry, and is used in a circle at sunset to accompany singing or storytelling, or by some savages on long walks to pass the time along the way. What's more, carimba is easy to carry and its sound is ethereal and clear, similar to the sound of a music box, but more transparent.
