Violin rosin selection and use precautions

- Dec 05, 2019-

Violin rosin can also add some metal components, such as gold, silver, lead, copper fine powder, these metal components will change the performance of rosin, so that the violin's tone has changed.

Gold rosin: It will help the strings to emit a warm, clear and distinct sound, which is suitable for all kinds of stringed instruments.

Silver rosin: It can make the strings produce a concentrated, bright sound, which is more suitable for violin and viola.

Lead rosin: soft texture without stickiness, gentle and clear pronunciation, suitable for violin and viola.

Copper rosin: suitable for beginners, because it is easy to play, can produce a warm and soft sound.

2. Rosin is the oil that flows out from the inside of the pine trunk. It is melted into water by high temperature. After drying, it becomes a block solid (with no fixed melting point). Its color is yellowish and deep red. It is an important chemical raw material. It is mainly used in circuit boards in daily life. When welding, it is used as flux. In the instrument, rosin is applied to the bow of erhu, violin, matouqin and other strings to increase the friction of the bow and the strings.

3, the principle of the violin sound:

Pulling a string or plucking a string produces a sound. The air inside the body generates vibrations and sounds, called resonance.

The four strings extend from the bottom of the violin across the bridge and are fixed at the end of the fingerboard with a hammer. The tuning method is to twist the hammer to adjust the tightness of the strings.

The level of the sound is determined by the size, thickness and tension of the strings. The shorter, finer, and tighter the strings, the higher the sound produced. At first the strings were made of sheep intestines, and most of them are now replaced with synthetic materials.
